Adult Volunteer Program
About The Adult Volunteer Program
Becoming involved with the Markham Stouffville Hospital Volunteer Program is a wonderful way of supporting the delivery of hospital care in our community. Research has shown that there are many benefits to volunteering, including helping the community prosper, developing personal growth and learning skills, fostering leadership and teamwork skills, and enhancing self-confidence. When volunteers are required to be absent, they are always missed by the patients and staff.
Important members of the Markham Stouffville Hospital, our volunteers have good communication and interpersonal skills. Above all, they have empathy for our patients and their families. Reliability and regular attendance are essential; and so the decision to make this commitment needs to be carefully explored and considered.
Adult applications are accepted year round and individuals will be emailed to come in for an interview based on availability of positions and the availability/interests of applicants.
